There are many ads for cheap dryer vent cleaning. Don't be fooled by these ads. These prices are usually only for the service call or the first few feet of the duct, and the price jumps much higher by the foot after that. This tactic is to get their foot in the door to try to sell you other, unnecessary services. Consider the cost of doing business and the low prices being offered. The fact is, anyone offering dryer vent cleaning for less than $100 is most likely going to have to sell you more in order to just break even. Considering, there are many expenses involved, such as a vehicle to fuel and maintain, vehicle insurance, business liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, service equipment and equipment maintenance and more. Our special vent vacuum alone cost over $1600. They have to make up for these cost somewhere. It will always be the customer that pays, most likely with mediocre, rushed, incomplete, sloppy work. With no GUARANTEE!
We feel bad for those who try to clean their dryer vent themselves, but later have to call us to fix the problems they created. Many buy brush kits from a home improvement store and end up loosing a brush inside a wall duct or just compacting the lint into a bigger problem. Now their $18 brush kit will require our rather expensive brushes, rods and heavy duty professional equipment to clean up the mess they created.
One customer told us she got a quote from a company representing a now closed department store. She was very upset that they wanted to charge her a "special discounted" rate of $369 for the first 8 feet and $369 for each additional 8 feet. On top of this was an added fuel fee. Fuel fee? Who knows what else they would charge for? Her dryer vent was about 30 feet long. This is longer than most. Her cost would have been over $1400. Our charge is a flat fee of $150 for this job with, no extras, no hidden fees!
12/17/20 Another customer said she was charged $350 for a short young man to clean her dryer vent. He claimed to be with David's Dryer Vent cleaning. She said he used a leaf blower... Afterward, her dryer still would not heat, so she called an appliance repair company. The appliance repair people found the vent to still be full of lint, and she didn't need a dryer repair. She then called us to have the job done again. We told her that we have never been to her home and that we are not short and don't have any employees. We offered to try to help her out, but she said she wanted to track down the person that swindled her. Furthermore, we want to know who is impersonating us...
Too many times, we hear from people that buy new dryers because their existing dryer wasn't heating. After installing a new dryer, the new one wouldn't heat either. Now, after the expense of buying a new dryer, they find that all they needed was to clean the dryer exhaust vent duct. How much would you rather spend? Up to $1800 or more for a new dryer or $150 to $180 to clean the vent?
